She sounded extremely arrogant!

And her "accent" was so fake. I know someone from Alaska who did not sound like that at all, is she trying to imitate a "midwestern" accent? Are they coaching her to talk like that so she will get the midwestern housewives to vote for her?

  1. nope

  2. not really...not even close to how Obama has postured himself as savior of the free world..let's be honest here!..As for the accent, I heard a news clip of her from some time ago, and she talked like that then...so???....I live in a state known for an 'accent' but(here's a shocker for you probibly)..not everyone has it!..My wife is a registered Democrat..and I have news for you..she'll be getting  my wife's vote! She's exactly what the Republicans(who opened their mouths first on the subject)said Washington needs...now that she show's up..they're p***** because she's not a liberal!  That's the only real problem..let's be honest about it!

  3. After the horseshit that was dumped on her by the media, I think she did a great job. She stood up for herself in the face of the vicious media and the tasteless liberal blogs - if you think that's arrogant, then you're insane.

  4. She was classless and tacky.

  5. Arrogant and over coached.

  6. Yes, and most of it was embellishments.

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her Republican supporters held back little Wednesday as they issued dismissive attacks on Barack Obama and flattering praise on her credentials to be vice president. In some cases, the reproach and the praise stretched the truth.

    Some examples:

PALIN: "I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending ... and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress 'thanks but no thanks' for that Bridge to Nowhere."

THE FACTS: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a "bridge to nowhere."

PALIN: "There is much to like and admire about our opponent. But listening to him speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform — not even in the state senate."

THE FACTS: Compared to McCain and his two decades in the Senate, Obama does have a more meager record. But he has worked with Republicans to pass legislation that expanded efforts to intercept illegal shipments of weapons of mass destruction and to help destroy conventional weapons stockpiles. The legislation became law last year. To demean that accomplishment would be to also demean the work of Republican Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, a respected foreign policy voice in the Senate. In Illinois, he was the leader on two big, contentious measures in Illinois: studying racial profiling by police and requiring recordings of interrogations in potential death penalty cases. He also successfully co-sponsored major ethics reform legislation.

PALIN: "The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes, raise payroll taxes, raise investment income taxes, raise the death tax, raise business taxes, and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars."

THE FACTS: The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obama's plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCain's plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded.

Obama would provide $80 billion in tax breaks, mainly for poor workers and the elderly, including tripling the Earned Income Tax Credit for minimum-wage workers and higher credits for larger families.

He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise.

  7. Your bias spews. You must be really be afraid. I know liberals have a hard time dealing with facts.

  8. She didn't give herself the credit, I and most of the other housewives in America did.

    NOway, NOhow, NObama !!!

  9. That's a real "accent."  She was attacked big time by OBama's people.  I'm glad she stood up for herself.

  10. I don't think so.  She was very upbeat and positive.  I think it was a perfect speech that took the wind out of Obama's sails leaving him on a sinking ship.

  11. SHE WAS p**s...ABOUT THE MEDIA TALKING ABOUT HER FAMILY..

BUT I CANT WAIT TO OBAMA/BIDEN

KNOCK HER OFF HER HIGH STOLE...

  12. ?????

  13. Not at all.  She's from Idaho originally - thus her "accent."

She was just being honest about her experience and background and family.

Dems aren't used to hearing this kind of speech though because Obama really can't speak to his experience.  I mean - what would he highlight - that he voted "present" 90% of the time?  That he was a "community organizer"?  That he worked at Baskin-Robbins?

  14. Yeah, she came off like an idiot. An extremely opinionated, ferocious idot.

  15. she sounded like a hockey mom ripping h**l out of the referee at a game.. know what happens to the mom there?  they get kicked out of the game eventually... just wait ,,she won't be on the ticket come November if mccain wants a chance at all.. he is NOT that stupid.

  16. heck ya...she's not serious enough to be a vice prez...she was jokin through out the whole speech, and she didn't mention anything about politics or the gov etc...

    good luck

  17. PSSSH.  You'd be impressed too if your spouse won snow machine races.

  18. She is good at praising herself. I give her that.

  19. She was excellent.  She tore Obama a new one.  Poor little Obama.  All scared and hugging his arugula. They tore his Greek Temple down.  (snicker)

  20. Caribou Barbi is a fraud.

  21. Leave it to a liberal to think everything is a act, thats the way the Liberals are trained you to think.   Too bad!

Palin is upsetting the liberals so much because she is REAL and not a big PHONY like Obama is.

Palin actually has PROOF of reforming and CHANGE!

Obama has proof of DOING NOTHING !  Nada!  Not leading, not changing, not even voting most of the time!

    McCain/ Palin WILL WIN!

  22. YES AND SHE SUCKS JUST LIKE HER PREGNANT DAUGHTER!

  23. You liberals are very scared today, and you should be. Your venom is leaking out like a sieve.

She's from Idaho originally, not Alaska, and she knows Obama better than you know her (and yet you still criticize, and the condemn her for criticizing, hypocrisy much?)

  24. Oh you liberal weenies are just so jealous she did good yesterday and you cant think of anything bad to say about her. You guys are so scared that the next presidnt is going to be another republican

  25. My Head hurt listening to her

I can only take finger nails across a chalk board for so long

  26. Nope.. But Obummer did..

  27. No, she did not give herself way too much credit. That is just a rumor started by the vicious media that intends to make ground moose-steak out of her. To me, she sounds like a cross between Teddy Roosevelt and Harry Truman, both of them unlikely choices for VP's that ended up being President.

  28. In all the videos I have seen from over her time as Governor she has had the same accent. Remember she was not born in Alaska and her parents grew up in Idaho.

After all the horrid coverage of her by some of the media what attitude would you suggest she take?

  29. That's what all the candidates do. Obama & Biden sure have complimented themselves.

  30. If she doesn't  blow her own horn, who will?

Anyways, don't blame her. McCain's people wrote that speech weeks ago, but I guess they never figured on having a female candidate deliver it. Maybe it was still too "masculine" (they were still trying to rework it at the last minute)?

    (BTW, she's from Idaho.)
