Didn't file papers, will this come back and bite us?

I'm American, husband is Australian, live in Australia, married in Fiji 12 years ago and have never filed our marriage with the courts or anyone. Didn't really know we were supposed to, but after reading some of these questions, it's got me thinking. Like if one of us dies, we have a will, is it valad? What if one day we want a divorce?

You need to check on the law in your country.

well for starters you cant get a divorce if your not legally married and secondly you can leave more to anyone you want in a will so i cant see how that will affect anything

if you are really worried go to the registry office and get legally married
