Didn't finish the GTT, finger pricks?!?

Question

I only lasted 45 minutes at my 3 hour GTT which I knew would happen, and I'm NOT doing it again. There are other ways to find out if I have GD. So, I asked the doctor, and they're going to have me finger prick & measure my sugar levels for a while to see if I have it or not. I don't think I do really, my first test was high due to the fact that I was never told to fast & ate a big breakfast & a giant glass of Hi-C ten minutes beforehand. Anyway, how long do you think I will have to prick my fingers?

* Before I even add this question I'm going to say that I DO NOT HAVE GD, I KNOW someone out there will misread my question & say that I already do have it and that's why I'm pricking my fingers, which is NOT the case.*

I don't know how long you need to do it, but it sure beats that syrup drink. I really hated that thing.

Oh I feel your pain.  I just tried taking the 3 hour test a few days ago (which is dumb; I'm already 37 weeks along).  20 minutes after taking the glucose drink, I vomited and vomited.  My doctor then had the nerve to say that I "refused" to take the test....as if I puked on purpose.  Yeah you will have to prick your fingers for at least a few days to get the blood sugar reading.  Or, if you are stubborn like me, make up some numbers for your doctor.  I refuse to turn my fingers into hamburger for some stupid test they should have administered 10 weeks ago.
