Congrats to the Australian Pole Vaulter for taking the gold where everyone expected the Russians to win. Go Aussies. We Brits have not had alot to cheer about in sport recently and we are over the moon how well are team are doing in the Olympics. Hooker did the Aussies Proud and this Brit Cheered him as if he were one of his own. I Cheered Four Years Ago when Thorpe spoilt the Party for Mr Phelps. But i Cheered for Phelps in setting History at this Olympics.

Australia you done good me cobbers.

  1. Well, I have to pay him his due because I only live on the 1st floor and he has proved he could get up this far to beat some manners into me LOL!

5.96 metres.. Olympic Record, and 1st Gold Medal in Track and Field for Australian Men in 40 years I gather.

Congratulations Australia... Bloody Good Effort, Well Deserved Result!

  2. I love cobbers. Mmmmmm, chocolate and caramel - whats not to like. LOL

He did awesome. Completely blown away - out of nowhere gold medal! Took the Olympic record with him too, such an awesome effort.

Like poster one, I am thrilled for the GB team too. Ironically, these days the rest of us all know that we just compete for 3rd so outside the US and China, thats our top of the tally, lol. The lotto support is paying off and 2012 looks really bright!

I don't know about anyone else, but I have been thoroughly enjoying these Olympics. Not as much as 2000 (being there beats everything) but certainly the second best I can remember (since Seoul 1988).

  3. A gold medal and the new Olympic Record...can't get much better than that mate!

Did anyone notice the Russian applauding Hooker the minute he cleared the jump? Such sportsmanship is what it all about and the icing on the cake for that special moment.

  4. whats cobbers :S :P

Hooker was brilliant. go aussies. and glad he went for the olympic record.

Your cycling team was extremly impressive uk! cant say much for Australia there, we were 1st in cycling at athens and this year only 1 silver medal. oh well.
