Didn't the Olympic platform diving candidates seem more civil than 8 years ago?

Back when Troy Dumais first made the team in springboard, the other divers were all older--and as egotistical as any athletes I've ever seen. This crop was all largely 19 and under and seemed a lot more congenial, if no less competitive.

Thoughts on the tryouts overall (so far)?

I haven't been following diving lately, but was was friends with an insider during the 80's and early 90's. The diving world is so small that it only takes one or two strong personalities to change the landscape of the sport dramatically.
