Question:

Didn't want to lap him?

I'm semi-watching ESPN and they have some show on Dale Earnhardt Junior. I'm not a race fan at all (waiting for the USA basketball game to come on) but I heard part of something that really struck me.

Junior was apparently leading a race but didn't want to lap his team mate (Gordon I think), so he stayed back a little but in doing so, hit a wall and messed up his car. He was able to finish in 5th place, but I just thought that was cool (if it's true) that he didn't want to lap his team mate and sacrificed a win for it.

Is this true and if so, what race was it?

Thanks.

  1. He has no ambition to do his best just cruises around cause hes rich

  2. Yes it's true but I can't remember what race.

  3. Teamwork!  Team courtesy.  I don't know what race, but it is not unheard of!

    Go Jr.>>>>

  4. It's true. If I hadn't erased it off my DVR I would've tried to find out which race it was for you. I just checked my guide and 2 reruns of the series are on ESPN2 Sunday morning if you want to check it out again. I will be ;)

  5. i'm pretty sure it's true - it happens quite a lot amongst teammates. not always, but if the leader has a big enough lead and can afford to sandbag a little to keep his teammate on the lead lap should a caution come out, they generally do - at least throughtful teammates do...

    ;-)
