Penarol coach, Diego Aguirre, has revealed that his side could inflict defeat upon its Brazilian rivals during the second-leg of their Copa Libertadores final. Penarol and Santos will lock heads on Wednesday, June 22 in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 after the first leg ended in
a tame draw. Aguirre believes his side has the courage to beat the Brazilian counterparts in their own backyard.
These two teams met in Uruguay for the first-leg last week, and Santos were the superior outfit by far and were only denied by Penarol goalkeeper, Sebastian Sosa, who made some outstanding saves to keep the Gold and Blacks in the trophy hunt. The manager
was all at praise for the Uruguayan and urged his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Defence-c38904 to be stronger as they would certainly be put under a stern test by the Brazilians.
Aguirre mentioned that he would http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Love-c22466 to see his team fight for their sixth Copa Libertadores title. He further told that Penarol’s history suggests that the club does not give up on anything without a fight and Santos would find it extremely hard even at
their home ground.
The 45-year-old further added, "The match will be very difficult, Santos are playing at home and they are all fantastic... we know this. On the other hand, I don't think there is a single person in Uruguay who would say we don't have a chance, and that Penarol
cannot be champions."
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Uruguay-c3035 U20 manager asked his team to stay relaxed ahead of the all important final. He admitted the fact that Penarol would be in for the toughest 90 minutes but was confident that his team would face the situation in the best possible manner.
Aguirre concluded by saying, "I am not masochistic, I am a Penarol fan. The 'Penarol way' [winning with great suffering] is something you cannot understand, it is a unique feeling. If I already knew we would win, I would prefer that, being completely sincere.
I would prefer suffering to a comfortable 3-0."
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santos-c32532 certainly seem the favourites to win the title but Penarol would not give up that easily, at least not without putting up a fight.
