The Brazilian international has insisted that he has not received any news that the La Liga side want him back in Spain, and claims that he is concentrating on his current club for now
Wolfsburg attacking midfielder Diego has confirmed that Atletico Madrid have not made an official approach for his services, and claimed that he wants to focus on helping his side improve their league form. The Bundesliga outfit
is struggling for form this season and is currently 16th in the league table.
The attacker’s future at Die Wolfe was expected to be over after he had a bust-up with then-trainer Felix Magath, and as a result he was loaned out to the Spanish club last season. He was hoping to move elsewhere in the summer
transfer window following Magath’s admission that the player has no place in his team.
However, the creative midfielder was unable to find a new club and was forced to return to the German side. Moreover, the former coach was sacked only recently and Diego has a new desire to help the Wheel Covers improve their results.
He also stated that he is not looking for a switch to Atletico, as he had no approach from them.
"We hear a lot about me in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011, but I can confirm I have not had any contact with Atletico," he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The 27-year-old said he enjoys playing at the Volkswagen Arena and is looking forward to have a successful campaign. He further added that he will try his best to make sure Wolfsburg stay in the German top-flight this term.

"I am at Wolfsburg and very grateful for my situation. I just hope I have a good season," he mused.

"We are prepared to fight to avoid relegation," the former Werder Bremen, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 and Porto player added.

"I hope we can get into the top four, but we know our situation is complicated. We have to go step by step," the 2012 UEFA Europa League winner finally concluded.
