The Diego Corrales that was undefeated going into the Mayweather fight, not the Corrales that lost to Joshua Clottey.

The Hatton that beat Tyzu not the Hatton that ate canvas against Mayweather.

I asked this question because both fighters were handed their first loss and took a beating from Pretty Boy Floyd.

RIP Diego.

  1. Go Go Diego. Diego fought Floyd with problems going on at home. I see him smashing Hatton in a one sided death match for six rounds. Too big, too strong, and too much heart. Hatton comes forward. Bad style to beat Diego with. He hates quick fighters like Mayweather and Cassamayor. Diego would have beat him up worse than Floyd and not backed up one bit. Toe to toe at its best. R.I.P. to a warrior who was a fan's fighter.

  2. I'm gonna have to side with the Diego Corrales crowd, Deigo got up from five knock downs and was still trying to win against Floyd, Ricky didn't protest after the first knockdown.  Toughness is more than looks and talk, you have to show it, and Deigo showed it and more.

  3. Hatton could not make light weight, the hatton that beat kosta was a 140 lb animal.. he would beat Diego eight days a week, Corrales was a great fighter but how much trouble did he have with Castillo ?? Hatton is a lot faster with hand speed, footwork...and punches a lot harder, gives more angles and throws a lot more...Ricky wins hands down

  4. the weight could make a big difference but  hypothetically lets say they are both at their best

i think diego actually could knock hatton out but he would have to walk through h**l to do it, i think kostya could have ko'd hatton to but he never was able to really land that bomb.

but ricky can move his feet well and box like he did against ben tackie and the first half of hte juan urango fight.

diego on his best night wins by KO rd 10

ricky hatton wins by decision on most other nights

  5. That would be a great fight but Diego is too big and has too much reach for the much smaller Hatton. Diego would cut Hatton up and eventually KO Little Ricky.

  6. diego all the way a very good fighter i have to say i think he would knock out hatton because hatton aint got the best chin ive seen and i didnt think he learned from mayweather when he kept on running into mayweathers punches thats wat knocked him out but i would love to see that fight

  7. Wow!! That would be an exciting matchup. Hatton has never fought professionally at lightweight, so I would have to wonder if that would have any effect on him. Both guys tend to take a lot of shots and like being on the inside. Corrales' could go the distance, because of his heart, but Corrales has been knocked down on several occasions. I could probably see Corrales getting dropped once or twice, which would probably cost him if the fight went to the scorecards.

As mnetioned, if it goes to the scorecards, I think Hatton would pull it off. If it goes anything short of 12-rounds, then I'd like to think it would be due to a TKO victory by Corrales over Hatton.

  8. I would love to see that. I lean toward Hatton, but Corrales could easily have taken one from Hatton.
