After the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 manager sent the striker back to the substitute’s bench against Atalanta, reports emanated of a possible rift between the manager-player.
The Nerazzurri tactician clarified that there had just been a difference of opinion between them, and there was no need to label it as dissent from the Uruguayan.
The manager further went on to state that the tactics discussed did not favour Forlan’s play, which was the reason he was sent back to the dugout.
Media reports suggested that the former Atletico Madrid star was not willing to come off the bench to play in the position of left wing, and his apparent refusal had led to the substitution of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luc-Castaignos-c22500
into the fray.
The former Villarreal striker had kept quiet on the issue and had not answered the calls by the media, which led to intensified rumours that a rift did exist between the two. However, Forlan has now stated
that he was always available for selection and even though he is a striker, he would not mind playing out of position for his team. He further went on to clarify that it was all a matter of miscommunication, and stated:
"The coach has explained what happened well. I have never refused to go onto the pitch and I never will. You know that I've always been a forward, but I am always available. Above all else, I want to play.
Yesterday [Sunday] there was a miscommunication within the media about what happened, even though Ranieri had explained it all. “
The striker has not been his prolific self in front of the goal this season, notching up two goals in the 14 matches he has played in the Serie A. However, the Uruguayan has been out of the Inter squad for
a long time due to injury which has greatly hampered his progress.
In his interview to the club website, the striker further stated; "And I repeat: I have nothing against Ranieri."
Internazionale have amassed 41 points in the Serie A, and are seven points adrift from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 who currently occupy the last Champions League qualification spot.
