Atletico Madrid striker, Diego Forlan, has committed his future to Los Rojiblancos despite interest from UAE based club, Al Wasl.
The Dubai-based club announced that they were on the verge of signing the former Manchester United striker last week, but Forlan has denied any link with the club managed by Argentine legend, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-Maradona-c11160.
The Uruguayan has had a less than convincing 2010/11 campaign after winning the Golden boot in the FIFA 2010 World Cup. He failed to live up to expectations in La Liga season and scored just 10 goals from 42 appearances in all competitions in the recently
concluded campaign.
The former Manchester United striker has quashed the rumours linking him with a move away from Estadio http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vicente-c36001 Calderon and insists that he is happy at the club and will honour his contract, which runs until the end of 2012/13 season. The striker admitted
that he will only leave the club if Atletico want him to leave; otherwise, he sees no reason to move.

The 32-year-old striker joined Atletico Madrid from Villarreal in 2007 and has made 195 appearances for the club thus far and has scored 96 goals. Forlan was the highest goal-scorer of the 2008/09 league season with the club.
