Diego Forlan dreaming of Inter Milan and Diego moving out of Juventus

Uruguay’s World Cup hero and the golden ball winner, Diego Forlan has expressed his desire to play for Inter Milan. He has been playing at Atletico Madrid for last 2 seasons and has enjoyed great success with the Spanish club. He helped his team to the Europa league glory last season, and has been their top scorer in the last 2 seasons. He said that even though he will be happy to make the move, but he knows that for now there is no possibility of that happening.
Deigo Forlan shone to fame few years back and was quickly snapped up by Manchester United but unfortunately the South American could not find his feet at old Trafford, and was disposed off after just one season. Later he moved to Spanish club Villarreal and does what he knows best; that is to score goals. He beat Barcelona’s Eto’o in his first season as the league’s top goal scorer and after 2 successful seasons moved to Atletico Madrid.
Ever since the World Cup ended, the striker has been linked to several big names in Europe, but till now no official approaches have been reported.  The 31 year old says that if he is to make a move to a big club this is the right time for him. Normally big clubs do not sign players over 30 for big sums of money as they do not see it as a long term investment.
While talking to a Spanish newspaper, Forlan said that Inter Milan is one of the biggest clubs in the world. He added that Inter won 3 big titles in one season and he would have loved to be part of that historical season. However even now he thinks that the club is heading in the right direction and is destined for great things. He said the new manager Rafael Benitez is a clever operator and he knows that he will take the club a long way. He said that till now all he has heard is rumours and he is not sure if Benitez or Moratti want him. Incidentally Atletico will play Inter Milan in the European super cup on 27th of August that is just 4 days before the transfer deadline.
Meanwhile Diego from Juventus is looking set to make his move from Italy to Germany. He is reportedly on his way to Bundesliga club, Wolfsburg; it is believed that the 2 clubs have agreed the terms of the transfer.
According to Sky sports, the Italian club has agreed a 16 million pound offer from the German club, and the deal now rests on the medical of Diego at Wolfsburg.
This is not the only business the 2 clubs have been talking about. The transfer of Edin Dzeko has also been discussed between the 2 clubs. On Monday the director of Juventus Giuseppe Marotta sat down with Galileo Frraris of Wolfsburg to finalize the deals. However, after the meeting the deal of Diego was the only one agreed upon and the agenda of Dzeko still hands in the balance.
The left back from Brazil joined Juventus in 2009 from the German club Werder Bremen. He has not been able to shine in Italy in his first season. It is believed that Diego did not find it easy to get to terms with the slow and tactical nature of Italian football. Juventus had been looking to off load him as soon as the transfer window opened, and now before the window closes the Italian giants are believed to be in search of a replacement. Another Brazilian, Michel Bastos from Lyon is believed to be the favourite to replace his compatriot at Juventus.
