The former Manchester United striker has praised the Italian’s methodology, revealing his admiration and respect for the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 boss.
The Beneamata striker has been out of action for long periods, having only started ten times for the San Siro outfit since his arrival in the summer.
The Uruguayan forward has recovered from the latest injury setback, and will be part of the travelling squad to face Olympique Marseille in the last 16 round of the UEFA Champions League.
Forlan was signed by Gian Piero Gasperini in the summer transfer window, but the manager got sacked soon after with Claudio Ranieri taking over.
When quizzed over his decision to move to the San Siro, the former Atletico star stated:
“I came here, played a few matches, and then the Coach changed. It happens - I suffered an injury, too. However I have always felt happy here - I'm totally convinced by the decision to come.”
The 32-year-old was full of praise for Ranieri, stating that he has played against the teams managed by the tactician during his time in the English Premier League and the Spanish La Liga. Forlan stated that Ranieri is privileged
to have managed some of the biggest clubs in world, and only world-class coaches have that distinction.
Reflecting on his own delight to be training under the 60-year-old, the former Villarreal man insisted that he is grateful to the former AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 boss for giving him the chance. The 32-year-old is confident that the veteran tactician
will help the team to get back to winning ways once again.
“Now I am coached by him, and it's a real privilege. We are convinced that we can return to how we were doing during that series of seven consecutive [League] wins.”
Claudio Ranieri and his men have come under increasing pressure of late, as the Nerazzurri have had a torrid time in the league since the end of the last month. The abysmal run has seen the fans hurling abuse on the former Chelsea
boss, and they have chanted for Jose Mourinho’s return after defeats to Novara and Bologna recently.
