Diego Forlan linked with a move to Juventus
Atletico Madrid's highly rated and golden ball winning striker, Diego Forlan could potentially be on his way out of the club. It has been reported that Italian giants, Juventus are currently showing strong signs of interest in
the player and could even bring the Uruguayan international into the side.
The team was previously linked with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707, but it now seems like they have set their sight on more realistic goals and will be looking to bring in Forlan, for around a quarter of what Torres would have cost
them.
Over the course of the last three years, Forlan has become one of the most vital players in the Atletico side. The player joined the team in 2007 and has been in unstoppable form ever since. Forlan, time and again, has been the
soul saviour of the Atletico side and the best example of it was when he single-handedly helped the team win the inaugural Europa League cup.
Despite being 31 years old, Forlan, even for a single second, has not made it look like his performances were suffering due to his age. If anything, the player has actually started to improve on his form as he has grown older and
as a result, he has often been compared to fine wine.
It also seems like the Old Lady of Italian Football, rather like their wine and are willing to spend as much as 15 million Euros, to land Forlan.
Juventus boss, Luigi Delneri has recently gone on to admit that he is looking to offload a number of players at the club. Most of those players happen to be attacking ones, with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vincenzo-Iaquinta-c36199 making
the list. However, at the same time, should Forlan join the team, the manager would be glad to witness the fact.
Forlan should also consider the fact that Juventus have proven to be a cultivating ground for older strikers like Del Piero in the past. Furthermore, the veteran forward has also admitted that he wants a change in scenery before
he calls it quits. With all signs pointing to Italy, it might not be a surprise to see Forlan playing alongside Del Piero soon.
