The agent of Inter Milan striker has revealed his client’s desire of remaining with the Nerazzurri until the end of his contract.
Forlan joined Inter from Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window on a two-year deal, but the striker has failed to impress. The Uruguayan international has failed to establish himself as a first-team starter under Gian Piero
Gasperini, but Claudio Ranieri’s arrival at the club gave the striker a lifeline to save his career.
However, the striker was not deployed in his favoured centre-forward position, and as a result, he misfired. New boss, Andrea Stramaccioni, who has preferred an attacking setup in the matches played under him so far, has played
with three strikers upfront.
Forlan is reportedly happy with his role under Stramaccioni, and believes that he can make an impression at San Siro. The striker was previously linked with a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011, but his client has rejected such rumours.
The representative insists that the former Manchester United star has not held talks with any club, and wants to stay and help http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan in winning major honours.
While taking to FCInternews. It the representative said:
"I hear a lot of things about Forlan's future and all the options he has, but his plan is to stay at Inter until his contract expires. What he wants is to win things with this club. I can guarantee that he has not had any talks
with any club. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 is a player of Inter and he is thinking like one."
Forlan’s current contract with the Nerazzurri will expire in 2013, and the striker is willing to honour his deal.
The 32-year-old has scored two goals in 14 appearances for the Beneamata this season, and has faced a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to several injury problems. The Uruguayan is in the twilight of his career, and wants to end
his professional career with a top club.
Inter will take on Udinese in their next game on Wednesday, April 25. The Beneamata have struggled in the ongoing season, and are languishing in the 7th spot in the table.
