Sevilla goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 Lopez, is confident that his team’s poor run in the Primera Division will come to an end soon.
The Andalusian’s expectations in the Primera Division have not turned out as planned so far this season as they struggle to find their form.
They have managed to win just five out of their opening 16 fixtures in the domestic league. However, Lopez is confident things will change for the better soon.
The shot-stopper believes his side’s dismal run in the domestic league will come to an end soon. He also added that his team-mates are optimistic and know that things will improve.
“This is going to change,” he told terra.es. “And all the players believe that it will change.”
The 31-year-old believes that his team will change things around and soon the club will come back to winning ways and get to where they deserve to be.
“You will see a complete turnaround and Sevilla will be where it should be. Change comes with action and that action starts on Thursday [away to Real Sociedad].”
Meanwhile, the Sevilla custodian remarked on what happened to him last year with his former club, Villarreal, and that similarities do not exist between that experience and his new club's current situation.
He stated the situation at his current club is totally different and said that what is happening right now at Sevilla cannot be compared with what he experienced with Villarreal.
“Last year things happened at Villarreal that have absolutely no comparison with what is happening here at Sevilla,” he said.
Finally, Lopez was hesitant to comment on the situation he found himself in while playing for his former club. He simply said nothing about it. He just believes and considers his current club as a real team which will turn things around.
“Last year things happened that I will not say now, but this team really is a team.”
The Andalusians have lost much ground on their rivals for a place in Europe. Their run of poor results has caused them to drift to the bottom-half of the table.
Currently they are occupying the 13th spot in the Primera Division standings.
