Uruguay captain, Diego Lugano has said that the recent sacking of Paris Saint-Germain coach Antoine Kombouare has left him surprised but not shocked. The former Fenerbahce star was never really a favourite of the Kanak coach so the statement is certainly
understandable.
Though the sacking of Antoine Kombouare by Paris Saint-Germain has left many French footballing figures shocked and angry, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Uruguay-c3035 international Diego Lugano has said that he was not really surprised to see the back of the former Valenciennes coach.
Many players in the PSG squad were certainly not the favourites of Kombouare but while talking to L’Equipe, Lugano gave his say on what recently happened.
“Really? It was true? I don’t know. We did everything, professionally speaking for this to work properly. But, it’s not for me to judge the decisions of the management,” Lugano said thus confirming that he was not extremely disappointed by the decision made
by the club.
“It’s the law of football. As a player, I always tried to do everything possible on the ground to help the group and to be honest with everyone. The rest is beyond me.”
It seems that for Lugano, the arrival of a new coach would be great news. Everything would be changed at the club once again and Lugano would once again be given a chance to prove his worth. his tenure while the new manager might have a lot of time for Lugano who is yet to display those self-assured displays that made him such a star in recent years.
At the age of 31, the captain of the South American champions is calling for more time. For both him and his teammates, he says that patience is a must as the club has only recently entered a new phase and aspires to become the best in the world – something
that takes time despite the club’s obvious wealth.
Reports suggest that Carlo Ancelotti might be named as Antoine Kombouare’s successor and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 would certainly be a hard man to impress so Lugano should be looking to step up his performances.
