Al Wasl coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-Maradona-c11160, has once again blasted the refereeing standards in UAE despite his team’s Emirates Cup win over Al Ain. The Argentine was furious at the double standards adapted by officials against his team and decided to launch a complaint
to the UAE Football Federation.
Maradona was talking after his side’s 1-0 win over Al Ain in the final of the Emirates Cup. The two teams locked heads on Saturday, November 12, and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Juan-Manuel-Olivera-c19777 scored the only goal of the game in the 59th minute.
Al Wasl were made to work hard by an impressive Al Ain outfit and required a screamer from Olivera to break the deadlock. The refereeing standards once again did not impress the Wasl boss, who is adamant on launching a complaint to the UAE FA.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841 international also accused the officials of the same crime just 10 days back, when his team succumbed to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Al Jazira.
Maradona reckons that the officials have some kind of rivalry against him or his men as they tend to repeat the same mistakes which is a cause of concern. He also admitted of frustration due to these recurring blunders and advised the officials to either
improve their standards or try something else.
While talking to reporters after Saturday’s game, Maradona further mentioned:
“When there was a ball between Al Wasl and Al Ain after somebody had fallen, the ball always went directly to Al Ain.”
He also stated, “I want to send a message to the referees – I want to help and support them to improve their standards – but we, the players, staff, administration and fans at Al Wasl will fight against them and overcome their decisions to win whatever happens
if they are against us, in order to make our goals a reality."
Maradona is likely to launch a complaint within the next three days in order to avoid any further humiliation at hands of the referees.
Al Wasl are currently third on the league table with seven points from four games, level on points with the second placed, Al Ain. Both teams find themselves three points adrift of the current leaders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Al-Jazira-c38263.
