Diego Milito set to be out of action for a month due to thigh injury
Inter Milan’s star striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-Milito-c11166 won't be able to participate in any games for the Italian side for as long as one month, after the player picked up a knock to his thigh. As a result, the player is being ruled out of Inter’s Champions League clash
against Bayern Munich scheduled to take place on February 23rd, 2011 and the player’s absence might have a colossus impact on the outcome of the game.
Milito was one of the key players on show for Inter last season, as the 31-year-old went on to score a number of crucial goals for Inter all season long. However, his best performances seemed to be saved for the Champions League. The Argentine forward went
on to score the two goals in the final of the Champions League last season, against Munich which saw Inter lift the crown of being the best team in Europe.
It is being reported that the player picked up the knock to his thigh, after Inter managed to edge past http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 in an eight goal thriller by five goals to three, on Sunday night. According to a diagnostic performed by the club’s doctor, Milito suffered a "second
degree strain to the biceps femoris of the thigh"
Inter Milan’s manager, Leonardo has gone on to state that he thinks Milito should take his time to recover from his knock and should not try to be a hero in the situation. It is going to be better for the team and the player, if he lets his injury heal completely
before he decides to come to the field once again.
Leonardo is reported to have said, "Diego has to feel comfortable and not think about what has happened."
"He does not have to prove anything to anyone and knows he is an important player for Inter. He must relax and recover to his best."
Milito has only managed to score five goals, in the sixteen appearances that he has made in the league so far this season, but his impact on the side is so great, that his absence is going to be a major let down for the team.
Nonetheless, if Milito manages to recover way ahead of schedule, then perhaps he could come back to haunt Munich once again, otherwise he will just have to hope http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 manage to get past the German giants on their own.
