The Turkish attacker scored earned a closely fought victory for Atletico Madrid with two second half goals against Espanyol.
Atletico Madrid were given a lifeline in their pursuit of UEFA Champions League qualification thanks to an inspired performance by Arda Turan.
The Turkish winger scored two second half goals to give Los Rojiblancos a two-goal advantage after Diego Godin’s 9th minute strike was rendered useless by Didac Vila’s equalizer.

Reflecting on Turan’s goals, Simeone stated that in order to become a competitive outfit, goals have come from different sources and Los Rojiblancos were duly aided by the Turkish international’s efforts.
The Atletico Madrid midfielder was himself pleased with his productive form of late, and added that he is content to be a part of the team’s progress. He added that he hopes for Atletico’s success and revealed that he is content whether he scores or not
as long as they hit the back of the net.
When quizzed about which goal he enjoyed scoring the most against Espanyol, the former Galatasaray player revealed his preference for his first strike just before the hour mark.
"I'm very happy for the goals but the important thing is to win," he said.
"No matter how we score the goals, in the end goals are goals. The first is the prettiest. It is always important to score and a very good feeling, but I'm happy to have won,"
