Atletico Madrid allowed their cross town rivals to claw back into La Liga fixture at the Vicente Calderon from a dominant 4-0 lead to a thrilling 4-3 result.
Mario Suarez gave Los Colchoneros the lead in the first half, before an entertaining second period saw six goals exchanged between the two Madrid based outfits. Atletico Madrid made it 4-0 by the 56th minute but lived dangerously in the final
10 minutes as Rayo Vallecano scored three goals.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 Pablo Simeone was pleased with the attacking performance of his charges as he took responsibility for the three goals Atletico conceded in the final moments. El Cholo hailed Rayo as ‘courageous opponents’ as he claimed that his tinkering with the squad
allowed them to claw back.
“The three goals are my responsibility but apart from that I think we played well against very courageous opponents.”
“I think we sorted things out quite well but then I rushed to make changes so the buck stops with me,” Simeone declared.
Analyzing the details of the fixture, El Cholo hailed his charges for the professional manner in which they carried themselves. Simeone stated that they carried out their plans until the last twenty minutes, but lost the track after he mixed things up with
their substitutions.
Moreover, the witty tactician shared that he ‘rushed’ into things which affected them in the end.
“The positive thing was that the whole team played very well for 70 minutes, particularly since it was the way we wanted to play, and we were doing well until I made the changes.”
“I rushed into things and the responsibility is solely down to me.”
Atletico Madrid have set a top-4 finish as their end of season objective and are on course on achieving their goal.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vicente-c36001 Calderon based outfit have 7 points from 3 La Liga fixtures, one less that fellow Primera Division outfits, adding two victories on the trot and have yet to taste defeat in the 2012/13 season. El Cholo claimed that the UEFA Europa League winners’
destiny is in their own hands if they want to realize their ambitions.
“Our destiny is in our own hands,” he concluded.
