Diego Yong crushes Rafael Davila Salinas in qualifying round contest at XVII Peru International 2012
Peru’s Diego Yong put up spectacular show of his tremendous skills in the Men’s Singles qualifying round when he crushed his team-mate Rafael Davila Salinas at the XVII Peru International 2012 in Peru, on Wednesday, April 11.
Diego entertained the local crowd with his spirited play as he kept his speed at maximum level and remained in complete control in the entire contest. He overpowered Rafael without showing tough resistance advanced into the next stage.
The impressive Diego was everywhere in the court and ended this battle in straight sets by taking just 27 minutes.
On the other hand, Rafael was helpless as he could not dominate the pace of rallies and also failed to play his normal game because his opponent was in complete control. He lost this fight without making a strong impact on his opponent.
In the first set, Diego started his run in a killing manner as he played with precision and managed to set up an impressive lead over his compatriot until the one-minute interval.
After the break, Diego continued playing positive badminton without slowing down his speed. He was in commanding position and he kept his rival moving around in the court without showing even a slight mercy.
In the meanwhile, Rafael tried to find his flow but failed to execute his shots in right areas.
Diego bagged the opening set in an inspiring manner by a terrific margin of 21-14.
In the second set, Rafael executed powerful strokes in the opening rallies and matched the speed of his rival but he failed to maintain his speed as his opponent was quicker in taking the bird.
Diego played flawless badminton and managed to take a comfortable lead until the mid-game interval.
After the break, Diego continued entertaining local fans by playing in the similar fashion and did not face any considerable opposition from his challenger.
Diego was in commanding position and managed to win the second game with a sensational margin of 21-11.
The impressive Diego wrapped up this Men’s Singles fight in two games by a terrific 21-14 and 21-11 margin on the board.
