The Brazilian playmaker stated that he has had the time of his life in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 and has greatly enjoyed wearing Atletico Madrid’s red and blue jersey.
Atletico Madrid finished their 2011/12 season with their second UEFA Europa League trophy in three years. Alongside http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Radamel-Falcao-c30276, Diego Ribas da Cunho, was one of the architects of their sensational triumph in the cup competition, a player who is set to return to parent club Wolfsburg on July 1st.  
Over the course of the season, the Brazilian midfielder solidified himself as one of the chief figures of Los Rojiblancos, an achievement that has filled him with fond memories of the region.
The former Juventus player was marred by injuries problems but managed to make the most of the opportunities he received under Gregorio Manzano and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 Pablo Simeone.
Diego stated that football is full of good memories and bad, and claimed that his time in Spain has been full of magical moments. He confided that it has been a pleasure and joy to play in such a great team which was able to win the Europa League.
Diego stated that he is delighted with time he spent in the Iberian Peninsula, which was great not only on an individual level but also on a collective level.
"In Spain I live magical moments, because in football there are times when so many good and some not, but everyone knows the pleasure and joy that I wear the shirt generates Atletico Madrid," he said.
"This year was very positive individual and collective, and I'm delighted."
Diego had words of praise for fellow summer 2011 recruit, Radamel Falcao. The Colombian international finished the season with 36 goals, winning the Europa League in back to back seasons.
The attacking midfielder of Italian descent stated that he holds Falcao in high regard and believes he is easily one of the best strikers in the world.
"No words are necessary to describe what is Falcao doing for Atletico. He is certainly one of the best strikers in the world. As a human being he is amazing, very simple and it's good to have him as a teammate."
Diego is currently with Los Rojiblancos on their South American tour and will play against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390 de Cali in friendly commitment to commemorate the 85 year history of their hosts.
