The Brazilian midfielder spent the last season on-loan with Atletico Madrid and helped the team win the UEFA Europa League. The player had fallen out with Felix Magath at the end of the last season and was sent out to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 for
a season long loan.
However, the midfielder is keen to discuss his future with the former Schalke manager before the next season starts. There were also reports suggesting that the player may return to the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 for the next campaign but a clearer
picture can only be drawn after the negotiations tale place.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 claimed that he will return to Wolfsburg next month and a decision will only be taken when he meets Felix Magath. The midfielder had earlier stated that he is open to a return to the Volkswagen Arena in the summer when his
loan deal expires.
“As it stands now, I will go back and am back at Wolfsburg from July 2. There are no problems with Felix Magath. It's clear that at the beginning we have to sit down together and talk - about the past, about the future,” he was
quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Juventus man stated that he had a great season with Atletico last year and admitted that winning the Europa League was certainly the highlight of his career. The Brazilian revealed that the Spanish side is keen to keep
him in Madrid and there is a possibility that the Madrid based side sign him in this transfer window.
“The year in Madrid was one of the most important of my career. Anything can happen. The coach, the players, the fans, they would like me to stay in Madrid. But we also have to look at the financial situation. It is not up to me
what happens. The clubs have to sort that out,” he concluded.
Diego has so far made 30 league appearances for VfL Wolfsburg and scored six times in the process. The player also has 33 international caps to his name, finding the net four times.
