Wolfsburg boss Felix Magath has offered Atletico Madrid’s Diego the chance to mend their relationship, as the player beckons on a return to Bundesliga.
Diego joined Atletico Madrid after a disastrous debut season with the German side, Wolfsburg, where the Brazilian international failed to exhibit his best form on the pitch and fell out with Magath for his off-field antics.
The factitious relationship between the two was so awful that Magath threatened to drop the Brazilian midfielder to the bench if he did not improve his behaviour.
Following Diego’s impressive performance for Los Rojiblancos, the German coach has offered to bring an end to the rift between them.
"I would not consider myself resentful. I am of the opinion that every man must make some mistakes, but he then must take responsibility for it," Magath told Sports-Bild.
"Clearly Diego has developed in Madrid. I think that it is fair for him to get another chance."
The creative midfielder shared the opinion of the former Schalke boss and stated that he bears no grudges against the coach.
"Anything is possible. I have no problem with Felix Magath, or an issue with the past. Mr. Magath's the boss, he decides. Wolfsburg are a good and professionally managed club."
However, Diego has pledged his commitment to Atletico Madrid for the current campaign; however, he has also failed to rule out a return to Wolfsburg or Werder Bremen.

The Brazilian international stated that he wants to continue with Atletico to rejuvenate their season under new coach, Diego Pablo Simeone. Diego’s comments came after Bremen’s sporting director, Klaus Allofs, stated that they want to bring him back to Volkswagen
Arena.
Atletico have been woefully below par in the current campaign but have seen a ray of hope under new coach Diego Pablo Simeone, who has led them to emphatic back-to-back victories.
The Spanish side have managed to accumulate a paltry 26 points from their 19 La Liga outings, but now they look to be in good form after Simeone’s three matches in charge.
Atletico drew against a strong Malaga side and went on to demolish Villarreal 3-0 at the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vicente-c36001 Calderon in their next fixture. They followed that victory with a thorough 0-4 beating of Real Sociedad at the Anoeta.
