The Brazilian international is not mulling over a return to 2012 UEFA Europa League winners Atletico Madrid in the near future, despite his side’s woeful start to the league campaign
Wolfsburg attacking midfielder Diego has announced that he will not quit the Bundesliga outfit in the January transfer window. The Wheel Covers have failed to make an impact this season and are currently 16th in the
league table, and the midfielder was speculated to join Atletico Madrid as a result.
The attacker struggled at the start of the current campaign but has found his best form, as he scored two goals in his side’s last outing. He spent the last season on loan at the La Liga club and helped them win the Europa League
2012.
The 27-year-old signed for the German side from Juventus two years ago, but was not able to show his true potential in his first year at the club. Therefore, he was loaned to the Spanish outfit where he spent the last term. He
returned in the summers and have been in superb form until now.
The playmaker was instrumental in Wolfsburg’s 3-1 triumph over Bayer Leverkusen at home. He claimed to be happy to ply his trade in Germany and is not seeking a move elsewhere. He commented that the German League has improved a
lot in recent years.
