Diet Coke and mentos questions?

Would eating mentos and then drinking coke kill you? Is it any coke that causes this? Would drinking coke then eating mentos harm you? My parents say a child in brazil died because of these.

if you are eating MINt mentos and any diet soda you could projectile vomit. It's some coating on the mentos that causes diet soda to react that way..

I've never heard of anyone dying from it....my brothers do that stuff for fun

actually - the gas released is very dangerous.

I've never heard of such a thing. That seems silly. They would have to have a warning sign on the mentos and the coke to keep people from dying. Think about it!

no it wouldn't kill you. the child in brazil probably ate something poisonous, got sick or hurts or had a disese of some sort but i eat diet coke and mentos ALOT and I am perfectly fine! ;-)

Ok i know about this if you only had 1 mento it would make u feel large and ur stomac will hurt and if u have anymore like a pack ur stomac rip and you will die yes because the acid in your stomac will hurt ur vital insides

nope. you wont feel anything. chewing the mentos makes the whole thing not work, and so does pouring the coke. so if you could directally inject your stomach with diet coke and mentos, you'l be fine

I imagine that this is some sort of urban legend .I would imagine the woest thing that would happen is you'd get a nasty taste in your mouth from the mentos  ( minty) mixed with the sweet taste of coke.

Search youtube using Mentos and Coke.  They have a couple of men that dropped mentos in containers of coke.  They were trying to set a record on how many containers they could get to spew all at once.  Watch that and see if you want to combine the two in your stomach.

I'm not sure if it would kill you but i wouldn't try it. yes it is any coke. i would go to Discovery channel.com i remember the mythbusters did something on this but i cant really remember haha

Myth Busters tested this - and it does create a significant reaction.  Whether or not it would kill you is debatable - you would probably just throw up.

depends, are u keeping the coke in your mouth, then popping a mento in? ir swallowing the coke, chewing up the mento and THEN swalling.. if u did the second one, i wouldn't think it would do that much cuz its well, chewed up. if u did the first one, well, we will see what happens 2 u. GO 4 IT! if u die, don't sue me... ☺

No it wouldnt.  They did that on mythbusters, they used a cow stomach and did the reaction inside of it.  it didnt explode or anything, you wouldnt die.  it probably woudnt feel real great though haha.

i dont think it would it would just let off a big fizz in your mouth but if you want to know if it will harm you take a bottle of diet coke and put a mentos in it but be sure to s***w on the cap before it exploads in your face. but don't eat mentos and diet coke together if your parents said no.

I believe its diet coke or rootbeer. I don't believe it would have the same chemical effect in your stomach do to the enzymes and acids, but if it did you would just do some serious burping or throwing up.
