So I am a competetive wrestler and for a little preseason conditioning joined our highschool cross country team. For wrestling i would usually eat anything i want for breakfast (eggs, toast, oatmeal, healthy stuff, no fast food or high fatty foods) and for lunch i would eat as many PB&J's as i could typically 4 throughout the day untill 2 hours before practice. I also constantly drink water. And that kept my weight pretty well maintained. I just had my first run with the team starting on the varsity team and i had cramps the whole run. The team Runs on average 5 miles a day. what should I eat? I am 130lbs and a vegetarian with a stomach of steal.

  1. Have you heard of Scott Jurek? He's vegan and one of the best ultramarathoners in the world.

Bread, pasta, cereal, rice, beans, peas, lentils, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies can easily offer everything that you need except B12.

All vegetarians should take a B12 supplement regularly since most people eat meat, dairy AND fortified cereals yet still have a B12 status that is lower than recommended.

It may help you if you see proof that vegetarians have the same potential as anyone else.

If you need meat or dairy during any stage of your life or to live any certain lifestyle, why does the American Dietetic Association say otherwise?
