Dietary supplement vs prescription drug?

I know that taking prescription drug can be bad for us... but how about herbal dietary supplement? I am taking this herbal dietary supplement call Hapizen is used to treat depression and elevate mood... should it be safe since its herbal...and similar to how vitamin is also a supplement??

I'm not sure what the ingredients are in the supplement that you mentioned.  You would be better off with plain St. John's Wort, 300 mg, one capsule, taken three times daily.  When you purchase from fly-by-night companies, they mix less than quality herbals and jack the price up and call it a supplement.  NEVER assume that because something is herbal that it is safe.  There are many drug interactions with herbals, and mixing herbals together, including early heart attacks in 20-somethings that appeared to be healthy.  With herbals, take the single ingredient as your first choice until you learn more about herbals and proper dosage.  Good luck!
