The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FC-Nuremberg-c38162 manager has denied rumours of holding talks with Bayer Leverkusen for the vacant managerial post.
Werkself sacked Robin Dutt last month after a series of poor results in all competitions and appointed Sami Hyypia as the interim manager until the end of the season.
The club will be in for a new manager this summer with a host of names already being linked. Dieter Hecking is reportedly one of the names and if rumours are to be believed, Leverkusen bosses have had talks with the Nuremberg manager
for a possible future managerial role at BayArena.
However, Dieter Hecking has denied any such reports and claimed that he has not talked to any club for a summer move. He insisted that the talk in the media is all rumours and there has not been any contact from any club in the
recent past.
The boss admitted that he will come out and announce of any such negotiations take place during the course of the season.
“I have not even held any talks, let alone reached an agreement with Leverkusen already. It is totally fabricated, and that is that. I am just sorry that I have to comment on such rumours,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The tactician insisted that he is only concentrating on the Bundesliga at the moment. He admitted that his only http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 is to guide Nuremberg to safety this season with just three games to go.
Nuremberg is currently 12th on the Bundesliga standings table with 38 points from the 31 games played. The club is 10 points above the relegation zone and a win would certainly secure their place in the first division
next season.
“We want to keep our rivals behind us, and ensure it stays that way. We have a duty, not only to ourselves, but also to our fans,” he concluded.
Hecking’s side will next take on Hamburg SV at the easyCredit Stadium on Saturday, April 21. The home side will be targeting all three points to make sure they end in the top ten at the end of the season.
