  1. Either one...... dieting in a restaurant doesn't work.....

  2. I would say the one with the chicken. Shrimp is very healthy, but the fact that it has a garlic sauce is a red flag. Garlic sauces are often prepared with butter, which would add a great deal of fat and calories to the dish. Maybe if you wanted to have the shrimp you could ask the restaurant to prepare it another way? Most are very accomodating with dietary needs.

    Hope this helps!

  3. It really depends on what sauces are used and what sides are served.  I would see if you could get your shrimp or chicken grilled and omit any sauces, or ask for the sauce on the side.  That way you can control how much you use on your meal.

  4. The not-fried shrimp or the boneless skinless chicken breast are both good choices, but it's what ELSE is in the dish that is going to make the BIG difference.

If the garlic sauce has butter, that will add on lots of fat and calories. You don't indicate what the chicken dish is made with. If it's fat or sugar, it could totally change it from health to not quick!

    By themselves (1 oz):

Chicken breast w/o skin: 67 calories, 4 grams fat, 1 gram saturated fat

Shrimp: 40 calories, .5 grams fat, 0 saturated fat.
