Dietmar Hamann insists Bayern Munich and Manchester City can both win the Champions League
Former German international Dietmar Hamann has insisted that Bayern Munich and Manchester City are both capable of winning the UEFA Champions League. He stated that both the teams have immense quality and are capable of defeating
any team in Europe at the end of the day. He also shared his opinion on the Financial Fair Play guidelines and claimed that German football will benefit from it.
Bayern Munich downed Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League group stage clash at Allianz Arena. Mario Gomez scored two goals as his side secured all three points and extended the winning run to 10 games. The Bavarians lead
the Group-A table with six points whereas Manchester City are third with one points from two games.
Hamann, who has played for both Bayern Munich and Manchester City, stated that it would not be a surprise if the duo reaches the final of Europe’s premier club competition next year.
“Manchester City are very strong. But the same goes for Bayern. It would not surprise me if in eight months; Bayern Munich and Manchester City were to face off again,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 midfielder claimed that the Manchester side have unlimited resources and have already spent millions of dollars in the transfer market to buy some world-class players over the past two years. He also offered
his support for UEFA’s Financial Fair Play guidelines and insisted that it will be fair for other clubs.
The former German international claimed that the German sides will benefit the most from the guidelines if the system works.
“Manchester City now have unlimited financial resources available. This will augment the prices, everything will be inflated. I think it's good that UEFA wants progress with the financial fair play guidelines so as to stop certain
developments. Should the system work, the German clubs will probably benefit from it,” he concluded.
Dietmar Hamann scored six times in 105 appearances for Bayern Munich whereas he did not score in the 54 games he played for the Manchester club.
