Dietrich Mateschitz vows to continue with the title winning team
The Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz has overruled all the rumours of losing any more members from the Austrian squad. He assured that he is happy with the current team structure, so there is no reason that he would opt for major changes.
The news of reshuffling the team caught air as Neil Martin, the chief strategist of the team, signed a contract with Ferrari earlier this week. Mateschitz admitted that it was a big loss for the team; however he was sure no one else would want to leave the
double championship winning team for a lucrative offer.
He further explained that only a little time back he had "extended the contracts of 50 most important people."
The Red Bull Racing has only in a period of six years evolved from a team of so-called ‘party boys’ to the world Champions. The combination of the youngest team Principal on the grid Christian Horner, the best known chief technical designer Adrian Newey,
the fastest car of the season RB6, and two of the best drivers of the season Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber, together brought home the drivers’ as well as the constructors’ championship of the season.
Since the German racer has bagged the first championship of his career, there is a speculation that like most of the other world champs he would also want to shift to one of the legendary teams like Ferrari or Mercedes soon. When the team owner was asked
earlier today if he fears losing Vettel to Ferrari in the following few seasons, he answered: "Sebastian knows very well what team he can count on for the future."
The past two months have often brought up the subject of Vettel leaving Red Bull for Ferrari for which Red Bull management has assured time and again that nothing like this is likely to happen in the near future. Last December, the Red Bull team boss, Horner
said that he understands that sooner or later the team and the racer will apart but went on to say, ‘We will make the decision (of leaving) as tough for Vettel as we can.’ He elaborated saying that so far they have a contract with the champion and he believes
that the next couple of years will see the two together.
