Diff b/w 32 bit and 64 bit OS?

hi guys can u please tell in detail in the diff b/w 32 and 64 bit OS...plz tel in technical details....and has it something to do with the accumulator size of the processor?

  1. As the name suggests, 32 bit OS is designed to run on a 32 bit processor and cannot run 64 bit instructions and also does not have the capability to access memory address spaces beyond the 32 bit memory address 2^32.

    64 bit OS run on 64 bit memory address space, and has access to 64 bit registers of the processor and also allows the execution of 64 bit instructions.
