What's the difference between these two TV's? They are both the same price: $1200, but the 40" is 1080p and the 37" is 720p. Why would anyone get the 37"? Is the S series a lower level or something?

  1. The S series is better then the M series. The higher the letter the better when it comes to Sony Bravia. They have so many lettes now of days. They have like 5 or so series. I think the next 2 best above those are the v and w series. Its prob a last year model deal for the S series compared to a this year model of the M. ITs like buying a 2008 or a 2009 vehicle. No real changes just a different model year.

  2. The 40" is a much better value.

The S-Series is better than the M-Series, and you'll see more detail with a larger screen and 1080p resolution. Since both sets are the same price, only a fool would buy the 37" (unless you have space limitations.)

Very few people know this, but Samsung produces the screens for most Sony HDTVs. You might check out some of their sets as well...
