Difference between 8X, 16X blank dvd's?

When purchasing a blank dvd what is the difference between 8X and 16X? Does the difference effect the dvd when viewing on a dvd player? Thanks!

  1. Kinda. 16x will be faster reading and burning only if you have a fast enough drive..

    Wouldn't make much difference watching a movie though.


  2. It makes a difference in how fast it records, but the performance should be the same.

    Edit: Like #1 said,(and I meant to say) the performance of a movie should be the same.
