  1. Thats weird, the other two answerers haven't of them before..

The ballet leo is a lot more high cut to give the illusion of a longer line and to make your legs look a little more thinner and longer.

The jazz is just more low cut.

I know that whenever I shorts like these: http://www.online-results.com/steppinout... with the ballet leo. There is always leotard, tights, then shorts lol. But when its jazz, its just leo + shorts...does that make sense?

    I hope this helps :)

  2. i didn't know that they even made separate leotards for jazz and ballet. i wear the same one to each anyways. i'd bet there isn't too big of a difference if there is one though.

  3. I don't think there is a difference between the two. And, if there is, teachers won't care. Unless it's exams...I guess.

If there are two different kinds, I would bet ballet is higher cut and jazz is lower cut. Just because in jazz you usually wear pants or shorts over...so you cut doesn;t matter, and in ballet the higher cut would look more elegant.

But again, to my knowledge, there are no different kinds of leotards for different classes. But, there are different styles. You can wear any style you want as long as it's ok with your teacher/studio's dress code. Look at this website for all the opinions:
