Hello, when I lived in London as a small girl, I remember eating Greek kebab, and I've tried Turkish kebab and I notice they are different.

How are they different? What spices are used? And who brought kebab?

  1. I think ,Turkish kebabs may be made from halal meat and Greek from ordinary meat, but I am not Greek or Turkish so I do not know the different spices used in each.

  2. There is no Greek Kebab actually. Kebab is a part of Middle Eastern Cuisine. I dont understand but Greeks are always trying to get everything to their culture from every country .. so Kebab came to Turkish Cuisine by the way of middleast that's it

  3. Kebab is just skewered meat and is common to both counties as well as the rest of the region. But the Greeks will use more fresh herbs as seasoning while the Turks because of the spice trade will use more dried spices and herbs. Greek kebabs are mostly lamb or mutton. In Turkey lamb mutton and goat are also the most common meats. As I said Turkish tend to be spicier, black pepper as well as chilli pepper. The Greeks love thier lemon and egg sauces as well as yogutrt and a kind of sour cream.

  4. Same region, yummmy.
