Question:

Difference between Protected and Unprotected left turn????

i have 2 pictures that i have to label for drivers ed

in one picture it is a 4 way intersection with no lights or signs...(uncontrolled)

in the other picture its showing a car turning left on a light and underneath the light it says left turn only....

please help....drivers ed is hard for me

  1. You may occasionally arrive at a four-way stop sign at the same time as another driver. In such cases the driver to the right has the right of way. However, not all drivers know this. If someone to your left decides to go first, let them!

    Protected turn will always have a light and or a sign and an unprotected turn will not have neither.....


  2. A protected turn has an arrow (light) or a lane that is separated from traffic by cones or some similar objects.  All other turns are unprotected.
