Whats the difference between a Slate Pool Table and A Slate Core Pool Table?

  3. The slate table is built using 3/4 inch slab.  This thickness provides a surface that won't warp or twist move regardless of temperature, moisture changes.

    A slate core is a thinner piece of slate sandwiched in between a composite material, that in theory, will also remain true and level.  The are compressed together using a glue.  The problem with this is that the composite material can and does expand and contract slightly and can affect the performance of the balls on the table.  Of course the core slate table is less expensive as well.
