Difference between TV resolutions?

So at present i have a 22" SDTV with 480 resolution which i play my Playstation 3 on, I was wondering if a bought a 26" HD ready LCD TV with 720 resolution, and use an HDMI cable for my PS3 if there will be a big difference?

  1. i believe it will make a difference in picture quality as well as the sound in HD.  LCDs have less glare and depending on the contrast ratio of the lcd...it will make difference by far. upgrade if u can..and see the difference in the ps3. its also a blue ray player so keep that in mind as well...it should make a big difference.

    Oh PS walmart in the game section has a cheap HDMI cable 8ft for like 16.00 Dollars

  3. Screen size won't be much different, but the amount of detail present will be. So, yes there will be a big difference, but if it's so small, some small text might be a bit harder to read due to it being smaller relative to the size of the screen, but clearer because the screen is able to show the information more clearly.

    Yes, there will be a difference. On a screen of that size, HDMI vs. component will not be much of a difference, and component cables are cheap (they are identical to composite! Same connection).
