Difference between a CDA and a ECE degree?

Whats the difference. I want to go back to school but i dont know if im able to afford going for another 2yrs to attain a ECE degree. I have a B.F.A. and now i have no money for a place nor another degree but I do want to work with children. Is a CDA creditencial good enough?

  1. A CDA is accepted by many prescools, but it is not recognized by the public schools or by Head Start. ECE degree will lead to many more opportunities in the future. The CDA can be done on-line and may give you a chance to be working while you get your ECE.

CDA-is the Child Development Associates...usually "2 years" but if you already credits...it will work toward it..for example...I do not have a degree but I had the credits/hours needed that all I had to do was do the paperwork part of the CDA.  Usually, to the ECE "degree" is the endorsement that you recieve after your bacherlor's because of the specific courses you took.  Yes, CDA will allow for you to work with young children in most preschool/child care fields.  Depends on what you want to do.  Good luck!
