  1. Well for one, they existed at three different times. The Mayans are the oldest of these cultures and existed predominately throughout the first millennium CE. The Inca came next and existed (as we know it) during the late middle ages (ca. 1200) into the early modern period (ca. 1570). Lastly the Aztecs were established at some point in the early 15th century and were effectively gone (as a solitary tribal nation) by 1525 or so.

Furthermore, these civilizations inhabited different parts of the hemisphere. The Mayans had a large civilization that spanned from the Sierra Madre mountains in central Mexico to modern El Salvador. The Incan empire was based in Cusco (modern day Cuzco, Peru) and expanded northward to present day Colombia and southward to the border of modern Chile. The Aztecs inhabited a smaller are in southern modern Mexico, west of the Yucatan Peninsula.

Without going into the requisite amount of detail due to these societies, I'll mention that the Mayans are principally reknowned for their social and cultural achievements (popularizing calendars, written language, intricate artwork, giant buildings, etc). The Inca are regarded as fierce warriors and diplomats who eventually came to control/influence the population of South America's entire west coast. The Aztecs are generally remembered as a warrior culture that was destroyed by the Spanish conquistadores. All three of these cultures practiced human sacrifice and slavery, but for markedly different reasons so it is not permissible to claim that these peoples were all one in the same when ideologically, spiritually, and culturally they were not.

  2. They are three different tribes.  They each made sacrifices to their false god.
