Difference between coldgear and warmgear underarmor?

My father got me under armor for Christmas since where i go to school tends to be very cold/windy. i just realized he accidentally got warmgear rather than coldgear. My father claims they work the same and he doesn't want to bother going to exchange it. what is the difference?

coldgear would be for winter/fall when it tends to be colder as hotgear is for summer/spring when it is warmer

They work the opposite!  Exchange them.
