Difference between diagnostic purpose and medical use?

i have an assignment asking identify the diagnostic purpose of xrays then the next question ius medical uses of xrays i find the questions the same but i think there not help and explain PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Agreed, the questions have a lot of overlap. In general, the diagnostic use of XRays is, as the previous poster mentioned, determine just what is wrong without performing surgery. So XRays help determine if your arm is broken, type of fracture, etc, and then after the physician reduces the fracture, help determine if the bones are back into proper anatomical alignment. XRays are helpful help locate masses, tumors, and even moisture in the lungs. The medical use might be alluding to radiation therapy -- focusing XRays at fairly high doses at cancer tumors.  There is a whole field of interventional radiology as well - and I think there are some physicians who visit this board who may chime in.
