Question:

Difference between entering college as freshman or as sophomore?

I have 27 college credit hours from high school, and I could take a physics class to make it 30 hours, which would make me a sophomore going into college.

I just didn't know if it mattered if you go in as a sophomore or freshman. Is there really a difference? Does it affect how much they'll give you in scholarships? Such as if you go in as a freshman they'll give you a scholarship renewable for 4 years, but if you go in as a sophomore they'll only make it renewable for 3?

And I'm not planning on living on campus.

I'm sorry if that was confusing. But can someone please help me?!

  1. I was a sophomore going into college and it didn't really help as far as scholarships or anything.  The only thing that it actually helped me with was that I got to pick my next semester's schedule a couple of days early, so I got into some classes that other freshmen didn't get into.  If you need physics for college, and the college you want to go to would accept the high school credit, that might make it helpful too.  Otherwise, it probably wouldn't make that much of a difference.

  2. No it doesn't matter...
