Difference between federal debt and deficit?

Please just give a short, concise answer. Also, approximately, what is the yearly budget of our federal government? Best answer gets 10 points!

Federal debt, is all the golfing trips, wine and dine parties, and crooks lining their pockets. Deficit debt, is what us hard working slaves, are trying to pay off generation after generation. Anyway that is how my Grandfather explained it to me. LOL
