Difference between handles and ball control?

  1. Handles is more of the ability to do different things with the ball in terms of moves.  In and outs, crossovers etc.  Someone with handles can do a ton of moves with the basketball.

    Ball control does not necessarily mean you have a ton of moves, it just means you have good control of the ball during your dribble, you are not prone to losing the ball off the dribble.  For example, a guy like Allen Iverson, Chris Paul, or jason Williams.. those guys have handles.

    You take some great point guards, Steve Nash, John Stockton, Mark Jackson etc.. those guys have elite ball control but not necessarily crazy handles.


  2. when they say your handle it usually just means ur dribbling skills. ball control could apply to anything
