  1. Horticultural societies are limited to horticulture, that is gardening whereas agricultural societies are broader in the sense that they are involved with the whole spectrum of farming.


  2. Horticulture has to do with the growing of plants, shrubs, and landscaping is in there too.

    Agriculture handles the whole spectrum from dairy cattle to fish and plants too.

  3. Hortus=Garden, Horticulture= Growing/tending a garden.

    Agrarian=Farming, Agriculture=Farming food stuff.

    Both may inlcude=Pomology(Fruits culture), Olericulture(Veggies), Floriculture(Flowers),Landscape and nurseries for commercial or own consumption.
