Difference between normal dvd and hd dvd..?

if I play a normal dvd disc in a hd dvd player, will I notice any improvement??

no you wont get no improvement on sound or picture a DVD is in ordinary digital and has for HUD DVD that is high definition in which the sound and picture is higher in digital performances

HD DVD has an upconverter in it so you would see some improvement. but a regular up converter cost less than the HD DVD player.

Amount of information that can fit on the disc... allowing HD (High Definition) video and high-end audio. Also, the layers are closer together, closer to the surface of the laser (to allow for more room for digital pits) and the thickness (or thinness) of the laser reading the data... it all adds up to tons more room on the same size disc.
